The most mobile pin solution
Rabo SmartPin turns every smartphone into a debit card machine. With the app and associated card reader, (contactless) PIN payments and cash can be accepted anywhere.
A success for five years now!
Traditional POS systems are cumbersome, expensive, and not mobile. For this reason, Rabobank introduced the first version of SmartPin with us in 2015. Since then, we have been responsible for the design, backend and apps for Android and iOS.
The cash register that goes back to the essence
Full-featured, but without unnecessary extras. That's SmartPin. Here's what you can do with it:
- Accept PIN payments, including contactless and via Apple Pay;
- Accepting cash payments and calculating change;
- Email, print or share a receipt;
- Create products that you sell more frequently;
- View or export daily, weekly and monthly sales;
- Shared use through simple role structure.
SmartPin works anywhere in Europe. Successful payments appear in your account the very next day!
Further development based on user feedback
Rabo SmartPin has become a full-fledged payment solution on the Dutch market. The app is continuously being developed, mostly based on user feedback. In doing so, we always pay attention to three things:
1. We explain the feature in normal human language.
2. We make sure the feature is easy to use.
3. We make sure the feature doesn't get in the way of users who don't want to use it.
For example, it has recently become possible to add a receipt printer and product scanner via bluetooth. Also added is the Cash Book, which allows cash flow to be tracked in clear periods.
Work is currently underway to integrate payment via iDEAL and Split Payments, which allows customers to pay in installments.

Safe and reliable
Business owners depend on SmartPin for revenue. That brings with it a great responsibility. The app and supporting systems are continuously monitored, and we thoroughly test every modification and update.
For this solution, we are actively working with Rabobank Netherlands, in scrum and team settings. Several other suppliers are also involved, supplying the card readers (hardware), for example
